  1. Our work

Street cleanliness surveys

At Keep Wales Tidy, we know that having clean streets really matters to people.

Litter harms wildlife, dog fouling is a danger to health and graffiti makes us feel unsafe in our communities. But for us to be able to make a difference, we need to understand these issues.

So, every year, our expert staff survey thousands of streets in every corner of Wales. Our independent results allow local authorities to target problem areas and issues.

By bringing together the data from these surveys, we can build a year-on-year Wales-wide picture of the condition of our streets. This helps us along with the Welsh Government and others to monitor the effectiveness of our work and plan how, by working together, we can make our streets cleaner and safer.

It’s everybody’s responsibility to dispose of their litter responsibly – a truly clean street is one that isn’t littered in the first place.
