Our development packages have been designed for community-based organisations looking to create larger-scale projects. Any type of community organisation can apply – from social enterprises and places of worship, to charities and registered social landlords.
The three packages have been designed to not only give nature a helping hand but also benefit people’s health and wellbeing. Our aim is to bring communities together, encourage people to volunteer outdoors and create green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
All packages include training, advice, practical help and support to install the new areas, as well as tools, materials and equipment to care for them long-term.
Applications will be assessed by a panel of experts and priority will be given to projects in deprived areas.
The next application deadline for Local Places for Nature is 31 July.
Initially, one of each of the packages will be available per local authority. If the packages haven’t been allocated by end of May, the panel will start to allocate them to applicants on the ‘reserve’ list.
