A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Eco-Schools in Wales to take part in a short pilot project around Food Waste prevention.  The Love Food Hate Waste campaign has developed a Primary teacher resource pack to be ready for schools at the end of the month and we are inviting schools to register and express their interest in taking part.

The activities and findings within the pack will support the Eco-Schools topics of Waste Minimisation and Healthy Living, and link closely with Eco-Schools criteria. The work carried out by schools can be presented as Eco-Schools evidence and used towards Eco-Schools accreditation.

Schools participating in this pilot will be investigating issues around food waste through class-based activities and through homework tasks. Feedback from the pilot activities will contribute towards gauging an important understanding of whether schools and their pupils can relay messages back into the home and reduce food waste.

To sign up to take part in this short pilot please confirm to julie.giles@keepwalestidy.cymru by Tuesday 31 January. Full pack and information will be sent after this date.
