Food Growing Garden Involve the whole community in growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables. We want to support communities looking to create or restore food growing patches. Our aim set up sustainable projects which will benefit nature for the long-term and enable people take ownership of growing and distributing their own produce. The package will include: Five native fruit trees Three raised bed made of wooden sleepers (approximately 2.4m x 10m) Vegetable seeds 29 potted flowering and fruiting shrubs (two litres) 15 potted herbs (9cm) 50 wildflower plug plants 200 ready to plant vegetable plugs 200 native species bulbs Peat-free compost and topsoil Soil membrane 40 square metres of wildflower turf 10m of fencing Greenhouse Trellis and fixings Water butt and stand Compost bin Path creation (ten metres) Metal tool store Bench made of recycled plastic (1.2m wide) Solar powered automatic watering system Wheelbarrow Information manuals / books Variety of hand tools to install and maintain garden Content of packages may be subject to change We know that you may not have any prior experience of food growing, so we’ll help you to plan and construct growing areas, and support you in planting, looking after and harvesting your new crops. The minimum area required for this package is 140 square metres. The variety of trees, plants and supplied will depend on the season and availability.
