It’s simple – we want to protect our hedgerows and make them important again.

They form a vital part of our landscape, but they’re at risk from neglect, damage and removal. We’re taking action to halt this decline.

Working in partnership with The Woodland Trust, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we’ve developed the Long Forest Project.

Together, we’ll be delivering practical action – recruiting thousands of volunteers to plant 100,000 trees and improve around 120,000m of hedgerow.

We’ll also be developing new ways for people to survey and record hedgerows near them.

The project officially kicks off in April 2017, but you can always contact Gruff Jones if you’d like to find out more.
