  1. Our work

Green Key

We’re helping to set the standard for tourism in Wales with Green Key – the largest, global, environmental accreditation awarded to thousands of tourism providers in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Unlocking sustainability in the tourism industry

Green Key allows Welsh businesses to celebrate the positive environmental changes they are making and market themselves to an audience that is more and more aware of their environmental responsibilities.

Businesses throughout the sector can apply for Green Key; this includes B&Bs, hotels, self-catering accommodations, camping sites, conference centres, restaurants and attractions

For more information about Green Key please contact [email protected] or visit www.greenkey.org.uk

Of course, the best way to understand why tourism businesses across Wales are joining the programme is to hear from Green Key awarded sites themselves...

We are really pleased to have achieved this Green Key accreditation.  It is an endorsement of the activities we – supported by our guests – are undertaking to work more sustainably, minimise our impact on the environment by recycling and monitoring our energy use, as well as using and supporting local products and producers.  And we have been very pleased at the support shown by Keep Wales Tidy through this scheme. We know more and more people, especially international visitors, are seeking out ‘green’ locations and this award further endorses Llandudno and North Wales as a great place to visit.
