Ahoy there, mateys! We’re part of the buccaneering anti-littering campaign Treasure Your River and are looking for new recruits to join our crew.

We’re recruiting crewmates to help with activities in Cardiff Bay on Wednesday 22 September. We’ll be there (in full fancy dress, of course) with Cardiff Harbour Authority and the incredible volunteers from Cardiff Rivers Group.

As well as taking part the clean-up on land, you’ll have the chance to climb aboard a boat made from 99% recycled plastic and help us fish for rubbish and abandoned treasures. You’ll also be able to captain one of our remote-controlled, litter-busting ghost ships!

We’re meeting outside the old Doctor Who Experience building (///sober.lime.loves) at 9.45am on Wednesday 22 September. We’ll be providing litter picking kit and our Cardiff project officer Gareth Davies will be giving a full health and safety briefing. All you need to do is dress up in your best pirate gear that’s suitable for the Welsh weather, including some sensible footwear.

Want to help make a difference? Arrr, what are you waitin’ for? Join us on Wednesday!

Treasure Your River

Our rivers are the heart of our communities and are a treasured habitat for a huge range of animals and humans alike. We’re working with Hubbub, The Rivers Trust, and other partners around the UK to help keep our rivers in ship-shape and to stop litter reaching the seven seas.

Visit the Treasure Your River website to find out more.
