The Green Flag Award programme is open for applications from now until 31 January 2020.

2019 saw 221 parks and green spaces  meet the high standards needed to receive the coveted Green Flag Award and Green Flag Community Award.

A huge variety of parks and green spaces can apply for a Green Flag Community Award. Among this year's recipients were, for the first time, Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire, Tre Cwm estate in Conwy and two new sites managed by Caldicot Town Council – King George V Playing Field and Dewstow Cemetery.

Lucy Prisk, Green Flag Coordinator at Keep Wales Tidy said:

The Green Flag Award is all about connecting people with the very best parks and green spaces. Keep Wales Tidy is proud to run the scheme in Wales because we know having a good quality environment can have a big impact on our communities, health and well-being, and economy. Any sites interested in applying for the Green Flag Community Award this year should get in touch as soon as possible to enter. Together we can continue to raise the standards of parks and green space in Wales.
